Informtion on our Kyneton Ewes and their history.

Our ewes were all born within June-August 2023 with a range of twins, singles and one triplet. They were all vaccinated with Glen-Ery with a booster 4 weeks later, they also received their Gudair vaccine for Johnes and also received pain relief at marking.  They also have received their annual booster in December last year. The ewes were all weaned onto bean stubbles and kept on these until March 2024. They were then kept at home on a feedlot until we had paddocks fenced after the fire which was late april, from this time on the ewes have been run on pasture only. They have not been fed any grain since April so what you see is what you get! The only ewes with any supplementation other then this early feeding were the show ewes. The ewes were shorn in September and then again in January 2025.

The ewes have been through multiple cullings so only the best are left, they are all a blank slate being young maiden ewes and could breed the house down so every ewe is an opportunity at a top animal. The ewe base these animals come from has been built up over a 14 year period and we have only selected the best we can find in both dams and sires and no amount has been spared in acheiving the type of sheep we are after. We strive for animals with a strong suffolk type, big ears and dark black heads and have the carcase that will benefit the commercial industry and take the breed forward whilst also maintaining structure and balance.

We are also selling commercial ewes this year, in three groups of 8. We have the tag numbers of these ewes as well if anyone requires them. There are some fantastic ewes in these lots although they have been classed as the 2nd grade of ewes they are also eligible to be registered, although the buyer must pay for the transfer fees.
